At the heart of being a Jesus follower is seeking to love our neighbours. Jesus when talking to His disciples in Matthew 25 told them:

34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

As a church we seek to live this out and are focusing on feeding the hungry with other churches in this borough.

In 2011-12 Foodbanks fed 128,687 people nationwide, 100% more than the previous year. Rising costs of food and fuel combined with static income, high unemployment and changes to benefits are causing more and more people to come to foodbanks for help. The Trussell Trust partners with churches and communities to open new foodbanks nationwide. With over 250 foodbanks currently launched, our goal is for every town to have one.

Foodbank launched in August 2012 in Broxbourne and in its first year had feed over 1000 adults and children. We support Foodbank by collecting food as a church and support the Hoddesdon distribution centre at Mannamead on Burford street.
